would rather sb. did sth. 虚拟语气中，用过去时表示希望某人现在/将会做某事, （暗含事实上是不可能的），比如
I would rather you were here now . 我希望你现在在这里就好了.
I would rather you saw me off at the airport tomorrow . 我但愿你明天来机场送我.

would rather sb. had done sth. 用过去完成时则表示宁愿某人做过某事，与过去事实相反
如:I would rather he had told me about it. 我宁愿你过去跟我说的是实话.暗含而事实上你并没有跟我说实话.

同理，i‘d rather have left a note on her desk.用过去完成时表示“我宁愿我（当时）在她桌上留张字条/我要是当时在她桌上留张字条就好了。”差不多这种意思。
