With the import quota in effect, the domestic price rises to $0.12 per pound, and domestic production increases to 160 million pounds per year. a :domestic producers gain $7.2bilion per year from the quota .
120*0.10=12 160*0.12=19.2 19.2-12=7.2
b :domestic consumers lost $6million per year from the qouta .
420*0.10=42 (160+240)*0.12=48 48-42=6
