Cooling channels are to be a minimum of 8 mm in diameter;
Use copper plugs where required;
The waterline inlets and outlets should be put on the side opposite of the operator;
Pipe thread sealing compound is required, 1/4PT;
Waterlines will be in all slides;
Waterlines will be installed in the stripper plate for cooling the runner;
Venting
Blind pockets or deep ribs require passive vents or venting channels into blind areas to assure filling without burning;
Mold Component
Use Φ89.8mm locating rings and chamfer all sharp corners;
“X” type interlock;
Use 4 guide pins and one guide pin’s location is offset;
Hardness of the guide pins must be 10 “RC” higher than the guide bushings;
Guide pins must be at a minimum 15mm longer than longest standing core or horn pin, and the diameter must be above Φ22mm;
Guide pins and bushings must be shouldered;
Shoulders are required on all inserts for positioning or doweled;
Thickness of the cavity and core inserts must be above 35 mm;
The clamping plate must be above 40mm;
Mold frames must be purchased;
Chamfer all the sharp corner except specific;
Screws for stop device must be with spring wash;
Identification
Stamping is to be a minimum of 0.1 mm of depth and the letters are large enough to be readable;
Each plate used must be stamped with the type of steel and hardness;
The mold supplier identification should be stamped on the mold base;
A plaque is to be mounted on the top of the mold by being screwing into a pocket, the plaque should be recessed from the outer mold surface, the plaque should include: mold name, tool manufacturer, Colgate Sanxiao or Vietnam property, date, mold weight, etc;
Cavity number should be engraved, and the position should be provided by Colgate Sanxiao project engineer;
Each waterline is to be identified on each end of the circuit with a number such as “ IN 1 – OUT 1”;
Guide pins and bushings must be labeled;
All “X” type locating bars and pockets must be labeled;
Texture and surface finish
All the A surface will be finished with an SPI # A2;
All the C surface will be finished with an SPI # B3;
EDM Surface Finish ( Charmilles CH Standards Scale );
Surface Finish Requirements of specific impression area to be indicated on 2D CAD file drawing or sample;
Surface Finish B2 with EDM texture Requirements for Runner System;
Note: Surface finishes base on 420 Stainless Steel material with 50 R"C" Hardness
