Jack has a neighbour. His name is William. He is rich. He loves money very much, and never gives anything to anybody.
Last week ,William went for a walk with his friend near a pond . He slipped and fell in. His friend ran to help him. His friend held out his hand and said, “Give me your hand, and I will pull you out!” The rich man’s head went under the water and then came up again, but he did not give his hand .Again his friend tried, but again the same thing happened.
Then Jack came and said, “Take my hand and I will pull you out!” The rich man took his hand at once ,and Jack pulled him out of the water . “I know my neighbour very well,” he said to the rich man’s friend . “You say ‘Give’ to him, he does nothing. But you say ‘Take’, he takes!”
