表示花费的四个词spend、take、cost、pay的用法区别：
1、主语
spend、pay的主语是人。
take的主语是it、事物。
cost的主语是物或某种活动。
2、侧重点
spend、take译为花费（时间或金钱）
cost强调价值，cost的过去式及过去分词都是cost,并且不能用于被动句。
pay强调支付。
3、用法搭配
（1）spend
①sb. spend+时间/金钱+on sth.某人在某事（物）上花费了多少时间或金钱。
例：Lily spends 50 dollars on the new skirt。Lily花了50美元买那条新裙子。
②sb. spend+时间/金钱+(in) doing sth.某人做某事花了多少时间或金钱。
例：Lily spends too much time （in）shopping. Lily花了太多时间去购物。
③sb. spend money for sth. 花钱买……
例：She spends 100 yuan for those books.她花了100元买那些书。
（2）take，后面常跟双宾语
① It takes sb. ＋时间＋to do sth. 做某事花了某人多少时间。
例：It may take a few days for the verification process to finish. 核查过程可能需要几天时间才能完成。
②doing sth. takes sb. ＋时间,做某事花了某人多少时间。
例：Devising a scheme and checking paperwork will doubtless take a significant time.设计方案和核对文书无疑将耗费大量时间。
（3）cost
①sth. costs (sb.) ＋金钱。某物花了（某人）多少钱。
例：A new computer costs a lot of money. 买一台新电脑要花一大笔钱。
② (doing) sth. costs (sb.) ＋时间。某物（做某事）花了（某人）多少时间。
例：Remembering these new words costs him a lot of time. 他花了大量时间才记住了这些单词。
（4）pay
①pay (sb.) money for sth. 付钱（给某人）买……。
②pay for sth. 付……的钱。
③pay for sb. 替某人付钱。
④pay sb. 付钱给某人。
⑤pay money back 还钱。
⑥pay off one's money.还清钱。
