end 末端，结束。它常常是表达一点的时间，通常只有at the end of ...(在⋯末；在⋯一端），表示一点时间。或者 by the end of ...（到⋯末），表示从某一点时间开始到某一点结束一段时间。可没有before the end of ... 这种表达方法。

by today，截止到今天
before today，截止到昨天
意思不一样啊。老师布置作业如果说before this weekend那就是最晚周五，如果是by this weekend那就是最晚周日。意思你品，你细品。
