of becoming more likely to die the older we get是和前面the process of losing……并列的，但是我不知道 the older we get 直接跟在后面是什么用法 没找到 the more the more 的结构呀，求教~

We are so familar with the fact （后引导同位语从句）that man ages, that people have for years assumed that the process （后接两个of引导的定语）of losing vigour with time ,of becoming more likely to die the older we get,（主语为fact）was something self-evident,like the cooling of a hot kettle or the wearing-out of a pair of shoes.
