英语语法有几个不明白的地方（冠词，介词）

在背考研范文中，有几个问题：
1、Obviously,he is making false ads for the products by exaggerating their functions in order to obtain huge spokesman's fees.

People vie with each other in purchasing the product represented by the star , only to find the product doesn't work so magically as is advertised and even brings about side-effects。
第一句中product为什么加s，而第二句中不加s

2、Once cheated, people will no longer believe star-represented products even if they are of high quality ,which is……
这句话中的of 能不能去掉，在这里地方时特殊用法吗？

第一句用products是因为这句话中所要表达的“产品”这个概念侧重于一个个产品，强调个体，所以用复数形式。
第二句用product是因为这句话中所要表达的“产品”这个概念侧重于产品这个集合，强调一个整体，product represented by the star就是指“明星代言产品”这一类产品，故不加s。

不能去掉，be of 后加名词或者名词性短语，表示这个名词的形容词形式，是固定用法，不能去掉of。如果去掉的话就要改成they are high-quality-products，表达不如they are of high quality通顺。
