Seagulls like salt water!
This summer Tom and Mary went to Hawaii. They were on holiday at the seaside. They enjoyed watching the seagulls. They learned a lot about these lovely birds.
They will often come close to you when you are eating something. If you gave some pieces of bread to them, theysnatched it up at once.
Seagulls swim well, but they do not often dive for fish. Seagulls can drink both fresh and salt water. Most animals are not able to do this. Seagulls are also good at flying with their wings. When a seagull is in the sky, it puts legs under its
body. Tom often watched seagulls come to the ground. He liked the way they beat the air with their wings, brought down their feet, and then stood on the ground Mary liked to see them gliding over the water as they often do, without moving their wings Tom and Mary also liked the seagulls' calls very much. It was very cool!
We often hear about rich people giving some of their money to help poor ones. It is surprising to hear about the same kindness from someone who has very little to begin with.
But 41-year-old Wang Zhiyou from China's Yongping Village in Heilongjiang Province does. The kind man, who has made a living by begging since he was 18, moves to a new city every month and collects what he can from others.
Just before he leaves for another City, he finds someone who is really poor and gives them all of his things for life. Over the last 15 years, he has given 40,000 yuan to people who he thinks are poorer than him.
Wang is a famous person in China. Many people know about his kindness. He has been dubbed the Northeastern Generous Beggar. He says he decided to help others in this special way because he was moved by poorer people, after finding that he was sent away for doption because his birth parents didn't have enough money to take care of him. What an amazing man!
