prefer和rather两个词的区别主要在于两个单词的词性不同，prefer是动词，而rather是副词，一般和would搭配使用。两个单词用于词组中时后面所跟的动词形式也不同。

prefer doing sth to(doing) sth 

would rather do sth than do sth

 例如:All students prefer to take the bus rather than walk.    = All students prefer taking the bus to walking.    =All students would rather take the bus than walk.
