the fighting stance

the fighting stance is the base position from where the boxer can move and throw all punches with balance and ease. it is the position that the boxer should strive to keep at all times .

the fighting stance varies from country ,from gym to gym and from trainer to trainer, but what they all have in common (or at least should have ) are balance and guard.

the fighting stance shown in this handbook is an “average”, less extreme fighting stance . this stance is based on two fundamentals - balance and proper guard .

to get into the fighting stance do the following :

An easy way to check the boxers balance is push the boxer on the shoulder left/right/back and front .if the boxer has assumed the correct fighting stance he will be able to keep the balance when pushed .
