一道语法填空题

Mr.Smith taught English at a school. At the beginning of his lesson ,he liked to have one of his students give a report on any subject.when it was jack’s turn ,he told his audience about his edler brother who was local worker.but during the report ,his eyes were staring at the world map on the wall all the time .Mr.Smith knew that Jack didn’t look at the audience because he was nervous.he said to jack jokingly,”we can see you miss your brother very much.But is he O.K. now in South America?”

题目让我们填最后一句_______is he O.K. now in South America?”
我不知道填什么，答案填But,说是转折关系，我不觉得是转折啊，这里哪里有什么转折的，到底怎样算是转折关系？谢谢

的确是转折关系。。。Jack因为演讲太紧张所以一直看着世界地图。。所以他的老师跟他开玩笑说：我知道你很想你的兄弟，但是他现在是在南美吗？而上文有提到他的兄弟是local worker

转折关系就是说的内容与前面提到的相反。这里是说“我们可以看到你非常想念你的哥哥，但是他很好”可以看出，他很想念，但原因不是他哥哥不好而是很好，所以转折。

这个转折 其实比较 模糊。 这是老师的一句玩笑话，也有点善意的反讽，就是，我们可以看出来，你非常想念你的哥哥，但是，他在南美洲不是过得很好吗？
这样的转折比较特殊吧，一般的题目里，转折都比较明显，but 前后的意思相反，或说相反的事情。
